Sort of like the rule of thumb when jogging early in the morning, or during the evening in certain upscale areas -- even in the Bay Area: if you are an African American, be sure that you are jogging with a White person, or else!!!!!!!!! Or else, what?

I felt like a criminal, as it started to get dark -- a Black woman out there. I just knew someone was going to call the police. I made sure that I had my money in my hand, along with my assorted plants all together so that the police could tally up the total for the plants and see the dollar total in my hand matched the price for the plants, just in case. Imagine it: a Black woman, in Sebastopol, at Burbank Farm, in the dark, gathering plants. Never mind the car I was driving, or my clothing. The police would have said the car was stolen, the clothing was shoplifted, and YOU, Ms. W. are going to jail! ROFL. I was as scared as can be. The next time I shall be certain to make it out there with plenty of daylight to spare!

But you DID ping me about the New Year, but who is to say that I only get one ping per New Year. By the way, I got one of those cacti --the one that was $15, plus some other things, lots of little herbs. The total came to $40. Did they find the cash, I hope?
